You don't necessarily need to stop snacking, just change what you snack on. Try vegetable sticks, rice cakes (taste like cardboard but you could put some low fat spread on), dried fruit etc. Try to only eat when sat down at the table, not on the sofa watching telly as you won't be concentrating on how much you're eating. Drink more water (sometimes when you feel hungry you're actually thirsty). Often you snack cos you're bored, make sure when you get the urge you find something else to do. If this doesn't work then i guess you'll have to do more exercise. Hope this will help! But remember a little of something bad is good for you.

Many ways. Handcuff your hands behind your back - Staple your lips together - live on a Desert Island - Go back in time and become Oliver by Charles Dickens - Get arrested for a crime you did not do and when in prison go on hunger strike. Eat proper food in the first place so you never have the need to snack - GET A LIFE

Get some grapefruit. Make sure you buy a Red Grapefruit as they are the best, than do not scoop it but peel it like an orange. It will definitely stop you snacking. It's refreshing, good for you and it takes ages to pill so less time for snacking. Try it!!

Go to a place you do not relate to food. Occupy yourself doing something productive. Think about how good you are going to look when you stop snacking all the time. If this doesn't work for you, try changing your snack items to cut fresh vegetables; carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. No dip, just veggies. Good luck.

Only have healthy things around you - then you can snack away but on cherry tomatoes, seeds, sugar snap peas, carrot sticks and stuff like that.

If you are prepared, then when you feel like snacking you can have what is to hand, rather than having to go off to the shop for chocolate, crisps etc. etc.

I have this problem also. I find that when I keep myself busy, I don't snack as much. Also don't bring the food into your home. I also tell myself that what I'm putting into my mouth is not good for me.

very often when we think we are hungry we are thirsty. Sip water. It is not actually a bad thing to graze rather than eat massive meals with long gaps between them but snack on good stuff, oatcakes, seeds, nuts, fruit, raw vegetables are all good.

Get off the computer and go and do something. I challenge you to snack while you are swimming lengths at the local swimming pool.

Have your lips sewn together?
Have a bigger meal so you're not hungry mid-afternoon?
or don't stop snacking but eat healthy snacks instead...
