I mean the invasoin and the whole thing! It is being run by politiians. All the other wars (WW2, Vietnam, Desert Storm) They all had generals taking part in them. With Iraq, you don't here about any generals at all!

While I assure you the Generals aren't just sitting around drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes, I agree that if they where given the option of running a war, and ultimately doing what THEY, and not some fat cat politician, were trained to do, we wouldn't be running around wondering what to do next, while the opposition is obviously on the offensive. Yes....we need to let the Army and Marines do what they do best.....make war, and end it as quickly and safely as possible.

You haven't been paying attention, then.
And, if you noticed, we're really not doing a 'war' per se. The battles against military units is years gone by.
It is a counter insurgency now, and has been for a couple of years. A counterinsurgency effort has a significantly higher political aspect than military. Even the location and quantity of soldiers in a specific location are more a political than a military consideration.
But don't let the media's fixation on blaming everything on Bush and Rumsfeld distract you from the fact that the military are alive and kicking butt, and that the generals are running the military end of the effort in Iraq.

If the politicians were not running this war the war would already be over. They are too concerned with what are enemies think about us, rather than estroying them and moving out with a victory. If they would allow us as soldiers to do our job without the pressure of having the media embedded with our troops would could easily win this war but with the guys always worried about what will happen if I pull this trigger nothing is going to change.

The nameless, faceless cretins who run the government from behind-the-scenes also run this war for their own profit. After World War II, big business recognized just how profitable war could be, so those within the giant military-industrial complex bought up all the politicians, created special interest groups to promote war, and hired pricey lobbyists to con Congress. This group of cretins are the wealthy elitists, corporate greed heads, oil companies, and government contractors who make billions from war.
Bush is just a puppet. The current Congress is the most contemptible, incompetent, cowardly, arrogant, corrupt body ever to occupy the Capitol Building. All of them deserve to be tried for high crimes against humanity, and - if convicted - face the firing squad. -RKO-

Not as badly as the Vietnam War, but yeah, the Pols have their fingers in the pie.
Every time we have to fight a war under restrictions mandated by congressmen in Washington, we end up having a much harder time getting the job done, since very few of our current pols have any military experience at all, much less combat experience.

Yep I agree with you. And like most things to many cooks in the kitchen spoil the broth. Loose the dogs of war. Politicians, if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.

Well one thing for certain is that the combat commanders in the streets are not! Rumsfeld controls everyone and everything in the military!
