Do something for somebody. It works for me every time!
Go to your local Senior care facility and offer to come in once or twice a week to spend an hour sitting around with the residents, making conversation and being good company. Their days are so long and you may make a new friendship. You are so needed but don't know it sitting at home. The Humane Society needs dog walkers, cage cleaners and the pets will be soooo happy to see you! Your local elementary school needs mentors. They let me come in once a week to help in the Kindergarten room. An extra adult is so needed there to help the little ones keep on task and offer an approving smile :)
Oh, and one more thing..........
Throw your t.v. out the window. It's a black hole.

I am in a rut for sure. Nothing on this television, all bad shows, and I actually watched "Deal or no Deal" last night for something to pass the time. I like being on this Y!A though, you get to share your opinion and you feel as if you have done something before getting up to a new day. But, I'm relaxing now...soon but soon, the Xmas stuff will start.

Hi, Don't watch T.V! It is absolutely the worst drain of energy and time!
1st step is just getting up in the morning, even if your sooo tired (this is what I have been having trouble with). Take a shower. Get dressed. If the weather is nice, go for a walk. Have a dog? Dogs are great companions. They love to go out for a walk! Start something: Cleaning, cook some halloween treats like cookies or popcorn balls, Art project, fix something that's broke, Paint a room in your house, Turn up some music and exercise. The key is you have to just DO something and God will bless you for it. You may not feel like doing anything, but once you start you kind of lose track of time and get to enjoying whatever you are doing.

Ironically, the times when you feel the most like staying home and not doing anything are the times when its better to get out and do something, anything. Go for a walk, meet a friend for coffee or lunch, window shop at the mall or your favorite store. It helps to perk up your energy level and make you feel less unsociable. Having said that, I think once in awhile its nice to just stay home one day and relax.

Yes, I am in a rut. It seems I am waiting for everything: waiting for some papers to arrive in the mail, waiting for Lexi to get her driver's license so we can buy a car so we can get around to do all the other things we need to do -- waiting is bad for me. Makes me stagnate.
I am determined to push myself out of this, and one of the ways I do it is taking a capsule of St. John's Wort three times a day. I call it my good faith effort to have a good attitude.
