Adverts are banned form our TV's that are considered misleading, to sexy or contain mild swear words that offend people. This is supposedly done to protect society. However army recruitment ads tell people they will go on a big adventure, learn new skills and be defending there loved ones. What they don't mention is that you stand a good chance of killing people you have never met and worse getting killed. Surely these ads are dangerously misleading!

WOW your kidding, Right? You really think the people of the USA. A country founded on war, that has had a standing Army since 1775. Has fought in countless wars really need to be reminded what an Army does. That is why we have Hollywood. The rest of you statement is true. I've been to 8 foriegn countries. Had wonderful adventures. Received fantastic training and learn new skills. There are probably 100 times more Americans that die of heart failure than kill people or die in the Army but fast food resterants are still allowed to advertise without warning.

It didn't mislead me. It is a big adventure. I'm a Corpsman (if you don't know what it is look it up). I've been all over the world through the Navy and going to more places this year. I've learned a new skill that I will use or expand on when I retire and I'm in this to defend your freedom. As already mentioned in here you don't join the military not the knowing the risks involved. Semfer Fortis and Semfer Fi to my Marines out there, HOOORAAAH Devil Dogs!!!

The ads you see on TV for products and services are for money-making organizations, not an effort to drum up a spirit of National Pride by joining a service. It is commonly understood that any service member is aware of the risks involved when joining up that a part is a risk for defending his country. People who just hear about the benefits side, such as education, free medical, etc., pretend they only join up for them. There are many commercials put on TV by companies which deceive and mislead, or have disclaimers attached which are hard to read or understand. But befor you join the military, you are given a full briefing on responsibilites before you sign the enlistment contract

Jaime your analogies are f@cking horrendous, get a grip. Whichever way the ASA be sure, and that they'll in all probability in basic terms enable them to proceed to coach the advert for an common existence, it would not substitute the reality that rangers are lifeless, kaput, deceased, expired, departed, long gone, not extra, extinct, six feet below, perished, finished.....You get the photograph, perhaps at some point Newco followers will too.
