As far as your so called friends go who cares what they say or insist on. You do what you want to do and if you want to date him then go for it. Let him ask you first tho. Good luck with all that. Also I'd consider finding some new friends. It sounds as if they're looking for an excuse to make fun of you and such. Be careful.
