Well early civilisation would have had a hard time getting along without something to organise them. Remember morals wre different back then and they needed the reward of Heaven and threat of Hell to keep people in line (not that it worked in any major effect).
These days, in first world countries (yes I know that sounds stuck up), religion's only really honoured by a small percentage (the South US is an exception) and while it's probably not on it's way out, it's become a lot more linient. Hopefully, this trend will continue.
I'd imagine that one day we'll look back on Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Shintoism and the others (sorry guys) and refer to them the same way we do to Greek, Norse and other pagan mythologies.

Better for some, worse for others.
Some people need a church, minister or other member of a religious society to tell them what is right and wrong.
Some can live on their own good morals, but unfortunately there are those that cant live without being led.
Without religion there will be chaos for them.

Better. I am a Christian but religions are made by man and a great source of contention. Christianity comes from the heart.

Better!!!
People could finally start using logic to go day-by-day instead of a book and a belief. Sadly this dream will never happen I don't think.
So many have died because of religion.
----------------------------------------------------
= The Holocaust caused by hatred towards the Jews
= The Spanish Inquisition attacked anyone not a Catholic Orthodox
= 9/11 caused by people of one religion attacking people who didn't follow that belief
= The Christian Crusades spread Christianity by force
= The Israel-Middle East conflict thats been going on as long as I can remember.
You can thank religion for all of these things. All because religion exists. It just divides people and gives them something to argue about.

Oh gosh, can we say peace and happiness? People would accept others more readily, and there would be no wars for "religious" sake. As for morals, you don't need religion to have good morals. You just "know" that it's wrong to hurt someone, and you just "know" that it's good to be kind to others. People don't need religion to tell them that. So that wouldn't be an issue if there were no religions. This world would be a much better place.

Muuuuuuch better! We'd finally be free of all these myths and legends that hold us back from making serious progress in numerous sciences.
Heck, it's not even the religions themselves, it's the fundamentalist interpretations of them that cause the problems.

There would be lots of scammers out of business. Selling god is big business in America. Xians gobble up god like fast food. They also buy into the fact that they should hand over their kids to the scammers who they can fleece later in life.

we would all be worse off, you need to have a higher up to report to and keep you on the straight and narrow. It would be a cop out to not have any religions.

Chance are the media would fill the gap or worst, politicians would take advantage of the people searching for a "leader" or someone to "guide" them...
