There is a big confusion as to what is bio-technical engineering is. These are several closely related fields for example it can also mean understanding human body behavior and designing electronic circuits out of it like understanding human eye and designing camera. It can also mean understanding human body using sophesticated technicques like FMRI. It can also mean understanding technical details of instruments used in biology for e.g. EEG machine etc. It can also mean analysing their data.
Bio technical engineer may also include mixing nanotechnology and molecules to improve immunity / remove disbility etc.
There are many meaning to this general term and each can be a 3-4 year course/specialization.

Bio-tech engineering is commonly called GMO (genetically modified organisms) this is when genes are taken from humans and placed in pigs to make their meat more tender, but lean and strawberries that have fish antifreeze genes in them etc.
