this guy that i like seems like he's trying to get my mom to like him. that what my ex boyfriend used to do . he used to talk to my mom more than me. and my mom said he did that so she whould trust him. is that what this new guy is doing also. and why do guys do this

why wouldnt u want ur mom to not like ur boyfriend this new guy is doing this because he takes u seriously.... and he feels like he has nothing to hide from u or ur family so be happy that he doin this and he is not a dog tryin to hide from ur family go0d luck

It's very important that both the boy friend and the girl friend are "in good" with both of their families and such. Why? because should it lead to marriage you're not just marrying that guy or that girl you're marrying into eachother's families as well so treat them right now because you never know who your future in-laws will be seriously. Not only that what's so wrong with being my girl friends parents friend as well. I don't see any thing wrong with it. So relax he's for real and he's being real with your mom.

They do that to get in your pants. They think that if they get on the good side with your mother that you will trust them more and eventually they can get you to do whatever they want you to do. But it also depends on your relationship (how long you've been together) and if they are the kind of honest person who really cares about you and your family.

Guys do this with their girlfriend's moms to help the family be more at ease with "the new guy". It's also somewhat tense to be put under the scrutiny of the family. He just wants to fit in with you and your family.
