I have a dog that is susceptable to diarrhea, the vet said to give kaopetate, the recommended dosage for weight after each episode of diarhea, also you should feed the dog some rice/hamburg mixture for 24-48 hours. You cook the hamburg down, rinse the grease off, then mix with cooked rice, that too will help his system settle.

Honey unless you plan on keeping the dog I would find a shelter not the pound but a dog rescue, because you are looking at some serious expense for an animal if you are not going to keep it. It could have worms or other problems such as intestenal, parvo, or it could just be nerves. Cottage chesse works great for stopping diaherra, about 4TBLS a day it is not good how ever to give any animal human cures such as pepto or Imodom, those things were designed for people not animals, and I'm sure you wouldn't take a med ment for a dog.

This dog could be very sick. He should be seen by a doctor. Diarehha is serious as it could dehydrate the dog, especially if it has persisted for more than 24 hours.
Until he can be seen, give him boiled chicken or beef and rice, in small increments a few times a day. SMALL AMOUNTS ONLY. Pepto can be given, but the doctor will need to give you the amounts as it is based on the weight of the patient.
Keep him away from other animals as he could have a parasite and it will infect your other pets if you have any.
Call a vet before dispensing ANY TYPE of medication. Not all human meds are safe for animals.
Good luck, hope you find the owner.

you have a huge heart and that's effective to renowned people such as you % to help homeless animals. properly suited for you is to volunteer on the close by shield. Volunteers are desperately mandatory and education is unfastened. you would be on the front line the place you're maximum mandatory, in feeding and looking out after those stray animals. maximum substantial cities have multiple strays, yet an untrained individual may well be putting himself and the animals in genuine probability. in case you come across a stray, call the shield and enable them to renowned the place to discover it. meanwhile, be reachable to help while the little guy is extra in. you may get education as a vet tech (or perchance a vet) and actually do plenty to help. thank you on your difficulty, on behalf of animals everywhere.

Before you give it any Pepto or Kayo or other human drugs, have it checked out by a vet! Sounds like worms to me, but could be any number of things. You didn't mention if it was a puppy or not? That could be important too.

It is hard to say the things it may have gotten into when loose. It is also possible it could have a communicable disease like parvo or distemper. You should not have brought this sickly dog into Petsmart where it could infect other animals. Take it to a Vet for a checkup or a shelter.

Don't switch food again, that will only make things worse. Try plain white cooked rice, that does wonders to stop diarrhea. A kid sized dose of pepto bismol will also help.
Good for you for taking care of this dog!!

You really need to take this poor little dog to the vet. There could have many, many things wrong with it (but they could also be things that are easily treated.) Do him/her a favor and have them looked at by a vet. You will both feel better.

Give his a little keopectate or pepto dismal.
Decide if you are going to keep him if so he will need to see a vet. Being a stray it could be anything.
Don't forget to disinfect your basement real well

It needs to be checked by a vet. That's not at all normal. My guess would be a nasty worm infestation, possibly worse.
Kaopectate is helpful in stopped doggy squirts, but I think the underlying cause needs to be examined pronto!
