I am reading an article in "Debt-proof Living" telling the scary truth about debit cards. What do you think?

debit cards are not bad it just depends on how you use them. for me, i do not have any credit cards( at least not now, i am getting out of debt) but i do have a debit card that i use only for things that require a credit card, like on-line purchases or car rental. and i only use it if the item i am buying is in my budget. also i only pay cash for other purchases. so basically it just takes discipline and in our society you need a major credit card, and i would rather it come out of my checking.

First, I like that book too.

Second, debit cards can be as bad as credit cards because people can use them when they really don't have the money to buy stuff.
