Smurfs taste a bit like lamb. They should definitely be roasted slowly with rosemary and garlic. The smurf should be cooked til it is a dark blue/black colour (lighter blue in the middle ensures that it is going to be tender) and served with crispy roast potatoes and mint sauce.

They are tricky little ba*stards though... catching them is a fine art. If you do manage to get hold of one, you can't guarantee you will again in the near future, so they are worth using sparingly - maybe in a stew here and a pie there, so that it lasts for a long time.

Personally, I think they would be good in a fruit salad, but I found this recipe for a Burning Smurf online. I don't think I would try it though.

Burning Smurf

1/2 shot After Shock (Blue)
1/2 shot sambuca

Mix and set fire to then suck through straw as it burns... Then relight the leftovers and slurp the leftovers till nothing's there as it vaporizes.

When you suck the burning vapor it makes your eyes pop!!!!!! Also, try pouring the burning mix in a line down the bar and suck that line (with fire extinguisher on hand).

I would marinate smurf in chilli and curry powder and make a Super Smurf Vindaloo, and fry that cat and have it as naan bread.
Then drink Sambuca.

DO WHAT TO A SMURF? ? ? How could you even consider such a dreadful act? ? .............. ( by the way they need to be cooked slowly but get a pan with a lid as they keep climbing out.) Eat with crusty bread. Enjoy!!

I believe that they come from Belgium so it doesn't matter how you cook them but traditionally they should be accompanied by french fries (chips) with mayonnaise and a chilled lager! Personally I would toss them in the fryer along with the fries. (Remove the hat first and pluck any beard/hair). Enjoy.
