If you had to choose one exercise to preform at the gym what would it be?

Deadlifts? Squats?

For me it is the clean and jerk. It affect almost every single muscle in your body. Snatch might be better, but it is way too dangerous for me.

Squat is an excellent exercise, but I don't know if they work the front shoulders and the pecs.

The good thing about clean and jerk is that the clean portion of the lift involves the gluetes, hamstrings and lower back and the jerk part involves the upper body.

Clean and press is equally good, but I can go a little heavier with jerk than straight press

The best exercise you can do is cardio. Seriously. It doesn't have to be running. Want to know my secret? I get to the gym, hop on the treadmill, set it to the highest possible incline, which is 15.0, then walk at 4.2 miles per hour for a straight hour. It was hard to do at first but I have been doing this for several months now, three times a week and not always for a full hour. I am in way better shape and have lost a ton of fat off my body. I have also managed to lose almost 60 pounds total. Thats what I would recommend, its good for your heart, and easy on your joints! Plus its fun. =)

My grandpa always said that running was the "number one mostest bestest exercise on the planet." However, I think that tree climbing is the very best. Climbing a fifty foot pine 15 times in half an hour gives you an excellent suppleness, strength and stamina workout all in one, and believe me, it thoroughly works and stretches every single muscle in your body.
If you don't have a tree, dead lifts probably are the best strength exercise.

Squats. If done properly, it works every muscle in your body. Not only that, your body releases more growth hormones while doing squats than it does with any other exercise.

Walking. We are genetically engineered to walk. You can get a **** cardio workout by a vigorous 30 minute walk without the joint impact problems caused by running.
