Drink a lot of liquid. Flush out your system. Get as much sleep today and tonight as you can. try to breathe through your nose as much as possible, to save what little is left of your throat. Make sure you have enough DayQuil to last you through tomorrow. sometimes a hot shower with lots of steam helps clear out my sinuses if I am already getting better.

1.Oil of Wild Oregano - Get from a Natural health store. This is a very powerful antiviral, antibacterial herb. Also great for conditions of the lungs, such as bronchitis, chronic coughs, etc.
Typical doses, depending on the concentration, are 1-4 drops, capsules or tablets; 1-4 times per day.
2.Zinc lozenges may also help speed recovery, perhaps by destroying the cold virus itself. (Read zinc lozenge labels carefully. Only zinc gluconate, ascorbate, and glycinate help fight colds.
Don't buy zinc products containing sorbitol, mannitol, or citric acid. When combined with saliva, these ingredients make zinc ineffective.) Another tip is to try breaking the tablets into quarters; suck on each piece every 30 minutes to 1 hour. If the particular virus you have is sensitive to the zinc, after the fourth tablet you should notice some relief in your sore throat pain.
3.During times of illness it is especially important to maintain fluid intake. Water is best, but if any juice is used during this time, fresh vegetable juice is better than sweet fruit juice ( store bought ).
4. Dairy products avoidance - Dairy products tend to be mucous-forming, making the mucous thicker. This makes it more difficult for natural processes to remove it, increasing the susceptibility to infections.
5. Colon Cleansing - Most of the mucous from the respiratory tract is swallowed and waste to be expelled from this mucous makes its way to the colon. During an illness like a cold, viral particles remain in quantity in the colon. The gentle washing away of the bulk of this material allows the immune system to focus on the respiratory tract rather than maintain a second larger front in the colon. This is one reason why almost all doctors in the preantibiotic era recommended at the least laxatives, for colds. It immediate relief of symptoms and helps to concentrate the immune response where it is needed.
