Yes and no. I was in an auto accident in 1971, never had physical therapy or chiropractic care. I went to a chiropractor in 1984 and he adjusted my neck and back. Loosen up alot of areas. I probably regained about 1/2 inch in height. He was a friend and I ended up working for him for a while doing his accounting and billing. I learned it is a matter of rest and not allowing my muscles to lock up. And an OCCASIONAL adjustment. I have not been to chiropractor in probably 8 years. They have their uses along with massage therapy or physical therapy.
Keep in mind that all of them, modern doctors and chiropractors, these so called sciences have only been sciences for the past 120 years. In conjunction with acupuncture the use of them should keep you well. People expect a lot from them. I expect something from them. Till they understand the operation of the human body and mind they will NOT be experts. Knowledgable but, not experts.

My aunt has been going to a chiropracter for 10 years and still hasn't been cured.
She has made the statement that once you go you have to keep on going from then on.
I'm sure that isn't a correct statement but it's what she said.

I think if you find a good one with a good reputation, they can do you a lot of good. Most of them, though, are just looking to get the money from your insurance company! They will make you come back for a long time and then you are still in pain! My step-dads cousin is a chiropractor, but he also has a degree in sports medicine and he never makes you go for more than you REALLY need to!

Yes, I went to a chiro. When I first meet with the Dr. he said it would take 60 sessions to fix my problem. When he found out my insurance only covered 30 visits he by some miracle figured out it would only take 30 sessions.

If your issue is more muscular in nature then a chiropractor can be beneficial. In my line of work, they scare the hell out of me. I've seen too many people who were not diagnosed properly and their chiropractor performed manipulation techniques which made a non-surgical issue an emergency surgical procedure.

they definitely helped but i am not convinced that having to go so often at the beginning of the treatment is necessary. What really helps is the extra exercises they tell you to do. If you do them religiously that makes a serious difference

No, they do not cure, they re-align you so that you will be more balance. Sometimes we get into a bad posture or injury that cause us to lean or favor one side more then the other.
