You are okay in the head, don't worry. Accept that you feel this way and that you don't know the exact cause right now. Make a list of the things that make it worse - everything from coffee, late nights, alcohol to having certain conversations or meeting certain people. Certain people or situations at work might also make it worse. Try and address these on a day to day basis and see whether avoiding exposure helps.
Try to accept the feelings and don't allow yourself to be alarmed by them, or to imagine you have some serious mental problem - this is probably not the case.
If none of these things work, have a chat with a sympathetic GP and see if a bit of counselling might put you back on your feet. Now there's one other thing - if you are very jumpy and eat a good bit but are still fairly thin - you may need your thyroid checked by a doctor.

Buy a good book on stress management and learn to breath properly. Both of these things will help you. However, if you are unable to control your own stress levels talk to someone about it.

Not funny to feel constantly anxious and stressed. Obviously there is an underlying cause to both of these problems and talking things through will help enourmously. If you can afford it, also book an appoinment to see a stress therapist.

Good luck ...and no a gin and tonic is not a long term solution..but may help in the short term. Gin will only make you feel depressed anyway.

I experience the same. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. That means I get Anxiety for no apparent reason. :P See a doc to find out for sure what's the cause, but be wary of going on psych meds. Many have unfortunate side effects and most are addictive. Simple relaxation techniques and minimizing the causes of stress in your life could be enough. A doc should be able to help you find classes for both locally. Diet change may also help.

You may have hypoglycemia and not know it. There is some basic info about hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) at www.hufa.org. This may help you determine if it is possible this is your problem. Do your parents and relatives have diabetes?

For the moment, go fix yourself a tuna sandwich or better yet, a salmon sandwich. If you are ready for breakfast, instead of fish, consider the old-fashioned (5 minute) oatmeal. Don't skip meals, and be sure to drink your water (2 liters a day).

Snap! I've been off work for the past three weeks with anxiety and drepression. I've been taking anti-depressants for over a year and now my GP is going to change my meds.

I've been told to exercise more, take up yoga etc. A bit difficult when I'm finding it hard to leave the house some days. I'm sorry you're feeling so bad, but don't be hard on yourself.

If you want to email me feel free. X

this is usually caused by a hormone imbalance. Go to the Dr. and he will be able to help. And yes you are right in the head. So MANY people suffer from this. Sometimes it is just the stress of work or life in general that gets to you so talk to the Dr.and you will be fine in no time.

Their are reasons for everything, do you eat a good diet, stimulants can make a person nervous, maybe you should talk to somone to find out why thier may be 101 reasons why, you wont know if you do not talk to anyone, some counselling services are free with church,s etc and you do not have to be a christian. I hope you feel better, look for some good books. on anxiety. www.robinsonbooks.com they have some good books the cognitive behaviour books are good.

It's quite simple... You're MAD!!!!!

But not really.... Try getting into exercise, not so much weights or bodybuilding, but cardiovascular, strenuous activities - a martial art, boxing or a fast/furious team sport.

Exercise is an excellent prevention to stress and anxiety, and it's not expensive......
