Education. And I disagree with the people who say that they are the same thing, that education is just teaching children "accepted truths". It's way more than that. How to read, write, do maths, these are not accepted truths, they are parts of life.
I know that the matter at hand here is "Should you teach them evolution or creation?" but if people are going to creep around that by generalising all education as akin to religious doctrine then they might aswell make their motives clear.
All children should be brought up in a relgiously neutral environment in my opinion. I'm not saying atheist. Agnostic is probably the best way for a child to be until they make their own choices.

Education mean a bringing out. Indoctrination is a kind of stuffing from outside, amounting to brainwashing. It is clear that children who are educated can come to think for themselves, developing independence. To give a simple example: you can either say 2+2= 4, or you can place two apples and two oranges on the table, and ask the child to count the total number of fruit.

Education is important, although nobody can get a truly unbiased education. We have to teach our kids about these biases, including our own. We have to teach them how to ask questions and find the answers, and the discernment to weed out the bad answers. Indoctrination can be taught through education, but if it is force-fed with no solid foundation, children will just reject it when they get older.

Neither. At that young age, any education is indoctrination, because the child doesn't have the mental faculties to actually oppose what's being said to them. So you have to be careful what you teach them. Teaching religious fairy tales is akin to child abuse in my view. That's a lesson of self-worthlessness, fear, and intolerance. Some indoctrination is useful and perhaps inevitable. I think even the Santa Claus indoctrination can be a useful lesson if shortly debunked. That would make the child less susceptible to indoctrination later. Of course, each child reacts to things differently.
The most important is to teach the child to think for himself. Then they will learn to think about what is being taught to them later. Indoctrination won't have as much of a hold then.

They're one and the same.... essentially.
Education is merely the programming of the accepted "truth"... the status quo into a person's mind. Its a means of bringing them around to a society's way of thinking.... so it is indoctrination.
We must not forget that no "truth" is completely Universal.... All there remains is consistancy, and the most consistant truth is generally the most widely accepted. Thus that which the most people believe becomes "the truth", and what is thereby driven into the minds of the young to "educate" them.

Indoctrination is term of brow beating and thought restriction. To indoctrinate a child of adult means coersion. The term is sick.

Let it be. Children will learn what they will learnt. When it turn wrong, you will see and stop. If you find out they are happy with conditional, this is Sins, should have to be educated.

Education, so that they are capable of making their own decisions when the time comes. I would rather my children be capable of critical thought than just spewing out mindless dogma.
