Raw vegetables (except onion and cabbage) are actually good for dogs. We give our dog bits of carrot for a treat, he loves it. In fact, I'd recommend adding veg to your dogs diet since he/she probably doesn't get enough from processed dog food. They need vitamins and minerals just like the rest of us. (PS A little bit of fruit is a good idea too. The only one to avoid is grapes.)

I would go easy on the applesauce as it might cause diarrhea,as far as the pumpkin, its plain canned pumpkin not the stuff that has all the spices in it,that will for sure make your dog sick, plain pumpkin is great for dogs with diarrhea or even constipation as its rich in fiber,I have however never heard of it being used for overweight dogs. Im with you about the raw feeding, although I agree with it,I will always be the type of person that will never be used to the idea enough to actually feed it to my dogs,LOL,from what I have heard dogs stomachs are different than humans so they can process pathogens and bacteria differently than we do,you'll find that allot of raw feeders freeze there meat before feeding it to there dogs to reduce some of the bacteria. When fed a proper raw diet a dog should need no supplements or vitamins, but feeding raw can be quite tricky so I suggest that you do more research on the topic and theres even a Yahoo raw feeders Group on here that you may want to join to further your education on this topic:)

My dogs love eating any pieces of pumpkin that fall as I carve. Like anything, though, keep it to a small amount or you may end up with extra clean up duties!
A friend makes her own dog treats and one of her recipes uses canned pumpkin. The dogs love it!

Pumpkin won't hurt a dog, and actually it is often used as a filler for dogs on a diet. Just be careful how much he eats. Too much of a good thing isn't always good.

Pumpkin is actually something you would give your dog to help it's bowels along.
It's not poison but your dog may experience some changes in his digestion like a little bit of constipation.
It's okay that he ate it. He'll be fine.

For some reason they like it. My dog picked mine off the vine and ate it up over a few days.

He had no problems.
