I have seen many questions on dieting and have answered more than I care to remember with an answer that if followed, would guarantee they would lose weight. Why have I never received a best answer for “eat less, exercise more?” Do people really not want to lose weight or are they still looking for the magic pill?

It's what I like to call the McDonald's Syndrome. Society wants everything now and with very little work. And they will pay through the nose to get it. Instant gratification.

They don't want to eat less, because then they have to suffer a little with being hungry. They don't want to eat healthy food because the junk food they eat tastes better. And they don't want to exercise because that's like hard work.

Yep you hit it right on the nose. People only select best answer for the ones that they feel appease them the most.
But you're right. it is so plain and simple....eat less (healthier) and exercise more. :)

Your "prescription" is correct, but most people don't know how to do what you suggest... they need a bit (or a lot) more detail for instance on how to eat less in a healthy way.
