Yes some schools do offer vocational training in junior and senior years of school. Girls can pick nursing, medical techs, cosmetology, business management etc. Boys can also try computer tech, automotive, culinary (for both), business, carpentry etc. Our kids who choose this program go to school til noon and then go to another school to learn a trade, its a great way to find out what you like and if you want to pursue this as a career.

some do - some say that they do - some do not
usually in high school there is a transistion program designed for students who are not planning on college - like a work/study program...say for medical assisting for instance
there may also be a study program at the community colege working together with the high school for training in areas like auto mechanic, computer skills etc

in my area they recognize that not everyone is college material and so they do have training and apprentice type programs available. i also think that schools should have programs that teach kids about life issues such as how to balance a check book, how to budget, how to set goals, parenting skills, buying a house etc.we used to have home economics where they taught us how to sew, cook, clean etc. those programs have been cut since then
