He does not. While the Catholic Church holds this to be true, there are denominations that do not. for instance, the idea that we are to take the Lord's Supper "in memory of Him" is so we can remember what He did for us.

Come on.

I'll take the time to answer this just ...well because I have a few minutes to spare and I want to get more points.

Communion is symbolic. People are not eating Jesus' flesh and drinking his blood. They are drinking wine, which symbolizes his blood, and eating bread or a wafer which symbolizes his flesh.

Just as the American flag is not the USA, but it symbolizes or represents the USA.

I don't know how old you are, but I would suggest you investigate the difference between the abstract and the concrete. If these words mean nothing to you in this context, then the advice applies all the more.

Jesus never at anytime told us to eat him. He said the bread represented the sacrifice he was about to offer and the wine represented the blood that would be poured out on behalf of mankind.

This is not canniballism. That is why when some disciples walked away he turned to the twelve and asked them if they too wont be going and peter answered ' Lord who can we go away to. You have sayings of everlasting life'.

The disciples waited for Jesus to explain what he meant ans so during the last supper he told them that they should keep doing this in rememberance of him. The bread and wine were just symbols. Jesus never turned into bread and wine neither did he give his disciples his flesh and blood to feed on. By reflecting on that last supper regularly we show our faith in the sacrifice of his death

He was speaking that as a metaphor.

To eat is to take in nourishment. The word of God (the Bible) is perfect foot to grow by.

As the Bible says, the life of the body is in the blood (you can not live without blood), if you ask Jesus to come into your heart you are receiving His perfect (eternal) life giving blood.

Jesus said His words were spirit, and life!
We have a natural spiritual defensive shield. The aura, that
can block out spiritual things.
The act of taking the body and blood INTO our bodies, actually
lowers our defensive shield, so the Holy Spirit can do it's work
of healing and unifying the body of Christ.

he does not mean physically eating his body. its symbolic. this is part of the institution of Communion. we are to drink his blood (represented today by grape juice, which is unfermented wine) and eat his body (unlevended bread). we are to participate in this process to renew our covenant with the Lord. (you only do this if you are baptized) read Matthew chapter 26 starting at verse 17 in the Bible. it talks about the Last Supper and what the bread and wine means.

I think He said: " Do this to remember me." He want us to remember him and the good he did. Let me add something here, He also wants Christan's to HELP others. Do unto others as you would do unto me. Things like that. So if Jesus needed heath care would you not give to him? what about the 45M or so of us that do not have it? I for one do not want to face God when He asks; ' When I needed health care did you provide it?"

Jesus didn't say that. The elements represent the blood and body of Christ.

You pronounced Matt 4:4 and that i replaced into surprised how close you have been to what replaced into being mentioned. You pronounced messiah replaced into the bread of life - he's ... so, what the Messiah replaced into saying (different than quoting that of Deuteronomy - because it replaced right into an instantaneous quote from the so called "previous Testiment" that the cristian international for the main area has rejected and consequently lost the inspiration of all actuality ...) - messiah mentioned: you could't stay by skill of the Messiah on my own ... you could't stay by skill of bread on my own = messiah on my own - yet; you need to stay by skill of each be conscious that proceeds from the mouth of Yahweh - and that's what brings life ... So - Messiah replaced into saying which you could't have self belief him in case you do not have self belief Yahweh by skill of being obedient (worshipping) him basically (Yahweh basically - by skill of residing by skill of his each be conscious ... as additionally shown in I Yahchanan (I John) 2:3-7). additionally found interior the e book of Yahchanan (John) 5:40 4-end of financial ruin - Messiah says it much extra sparkling - he says you could't even comprehend a be conscious that the messiah has spoken ....: If ... in case you do not have self belief each little thing THAT MOSHEH (MOSES) WROTE ... and needless to say you could't have self belief what Mosheh wrote - in case you do no longer stay by skill of IT ... in case you do no longer stay by skill of it ... then you definately can't comprehend a be conscious the Messiah spoke - as you have a different language ... SIN ... and not actuality that the bread of life advised us to take into ourselves ... by skill of ingesting the flesh and ingesting the blood ... the very essence of the classes. It replaced into no longer an act of cannibalism ... Yahshua spoke each little thing in parables - so basically the believers can hear and comprehend it. desire this helped. Peace; Aintmyfault
