Because those people do not recognize the beauty of the Mass at other times of the year.

Welcome those people and do not begrudge them being there only a few times. Make them feel welcome and maybe they will show up more often

I always attend mass at Christmas and Easter. They're the only times of year my family and I all go together. I try to go on a Sunday every once in a while but being honest I usually make the biggest efforts when something bad happens. I dont feel I need to go to Church every week to express my faith. I always try to be kind to others, personally I think that being a good person is the most important thing.

Simple answer: many "Christians" (people who say they are Christians) are just Christians by title. They don't really try to follow God's commands or live a holy life. Then there are some who try to do those things but they really don't have a real relationship with Christ. They are trying to change their own lives by living to a set a rules instead of a allowing God to change their lives from the inside out.

The truth is some people don't want to be looked at as "bad Christians", and even more sadly some people believe that if that go to church during those days that God will somehow reject them. Others beleive that those are just special days and they should go on them even if they don't attend other services.

So many people are missing the point and that's the reason so many people feel that Christians are a bunch of hypocrites.

As a Christian who truly does have Christ in my heart I just pray that more church goers would really submit their lives to Jesus Christ. I'm also so thankful for the true believers that due post to this site and represent true Christianity.

Edit: With all that said I have to agree with Muffy

Because that is when people are the most convicted. We usually call those people CE Christians (Christmas and Easter). If that is what they believe is the only time they should go to church, thats fine, we are not forced to go to church, but it is a good idea to keep strong in your faith.

Because no one would ever go and even the catholics know that the content is negligable anyway. Ever sat through a full mass catholic wedding? Might as well stab your eyes out now...

I think this can be seen in a lot of churches. People need to "feel religious" on those holidays. I guess they think they are doing well the rest of the time.
