Use the steps in your home as your personal stairmaster. Even one step will do it. Develop some sort of step routine that you can easily do several times a day.
Lay on the floor with your small child on your stomach. Do crunches that way. Or put the child on your back horsey style & do pushups.
Go jogging with the kids in the stroller. Or just go walking 15 minutes a day.

I had 7 kids in 7 years, and can tell you that it's amazing to me a stay at home Mom with 2 can't find time to exercise...Sweety, your exercising ALL day!
"Mommy, I dropped my blanket"= bend down pick up blanket, deliver to uncovered kid.
Mommy, could you get ??from the top of the closet=stretching
If you truly don't have time, just add a few more reps into whatever your doing..if you bend down to pick something up, do it 10 times..kids make great weights!!and they thinks it's a big game
But for a more real approach, you deserve time to keep your self fit and healthy!
So many spas and gyms today offer babysitting as part of the membership package, try a few local ones out , most will give you a free day/or weeks trial, find a nursery that your comfortable with at a gym you like, and take the hour a day plus travel time!
Think of it as an investment for your family!
Unhappy, lonely Mom=unhappy miserable family!
We have to make time for the important things in life, and your health is the single most important thing to your family...good luck!

I dance with my son, he is 2. He keeps telling me "do this, do this" and I do exactly all the moves he does and man i am worn out after 20 minutes!
But if you want to be able to get away to work out that should be up to your husband and how willing he is to help you make that happen. I feel that running/jogging is the best work out and if you can just run out real quick right before dinner when your husband is home from work for only 15-20 minutes that is great exercise and not too time consuming.
I did pilates during their naps and that too only takes 20 minutes and you see results - just by a DVD and do it at home.
I know it's hard but always try to find time to get into shape because you feel better about yourself.

You have to wake up early and work out. That is how I lost all of the weight after my first son... and I intend to do it again after I have this baby... You really just have to want it enough to be willing to sacrifice a little more sleep... It is actually refreshing to work out first thing in the morning. It will give you an excellent boost of energy for the day.
Good luck!

Get up early and get a few work out tapes. I used to get up at six in the morning during the summer because my kids would wake up at seven. I'd do a tape for a half hour-forty-five minutes and then get in the shower. I was horrible though--once I got my body back where it used to be I didn't wake up to work out anymore. Now I just go on walks with my kids, eat healthy, and that keeps me fit. Hope this helps!

In the evenings when your husband comes home, take a couple hours for yourself. You can also do yoga with small children - they have numerous books and videos showing you how. You can put the kids in a double jogging stroller and hit the pavement, too!

Invest in a stationary bike. Mine only cost 79.00 or get a used one. Work out when they are napping. My mom usually comes over and watches the toddler while I run to the gym. If you can't have someone close to u watch the children do so when they nap and have your husband help out on weekends.

I'm in your shoes - and my gym has a nursery/day care for the kids! I would not join a gym that didn't supply that.
Good for you realizing that you have to take care of you!!
Adding: Lindsey has a great idea too - walks with your kids are *awesome* and it gets them in the habit of exercising too!

if your kids are going to kindergarten you can use an hour of htat time to go to the gym.If one of your kids go to kindergarten and one is still too young to go(like in my case) then the only option is to workout at home during the time he/she naps.Mine sleeps from nine int he morning to about ten thirty.Or late int he night. It doesnt matter what time or where you do it.
All you have to have is determination and commitment.
I even do my nails and toes as late as twelve in the night ....tahts when its most peaceful

i would use my son as a workout "tool" when he was little...sounds weird huh....they make a tape for it too...like if you are trying to strengthen your arms, pick the baby up and down....i used to lie my son on the floor and get in the push up position over him and do push ups...this made him laugh alot and was good for me too...as he got older, we would take walks or go to the park...we would have races and race each other, of course i let him win, but i was doing cardio in the mean time...its hard to find time to take care of yourself so you kind of have to figure out ways to do it, with your kids present and you can make it fun for them also
