Hey everyone, I have a laptop and I need to install some programs, but I am not listed as a computer administrator and it wont let me install programs unless I am listed as one.

Does anyone know of any tips and tricks on how to get around this since I am unable to get to someone who has admin access to my computer at this time? I run XP Pro.

Be careful. If this is a work PC then the password is also a network logon. It is easily traced & can cost you your job.

If it is a standalone PC then you are obviously using someone else's computer (parent maybe).

I won't give you links to where you can obtain programs to break into the Administartor login, however, I will tell you that all you have to do is use Yahoo's search engine with a query like :

"Windows XP Administrator password recovery"

A word of caution : MANY OF THESE SITES ARE SATURATED WITH VIRUSES & MALWARE. Proceed at your own risk.
