Not necessarily, a lot of cats hack up hairballs and that doesn't need medical intervention. Unless your cat has other visible signs of sickness or you saw your cat eat something it wasn't supposed to and immediately start gagging, that would be a reason to take it to the animal hospital.
If your cat eats something that upsets it's stomach most of the time it will cough it up and you have to clean that up but other than that, it's not normally a problem unless there are other signs of sickness like listlessness, coughing, not eating etc.

It probably has a hair ball which is a common thing for cats. Any pet store will have hair ball remover, I find that a paste which you can rub on the upper inside of their mouth is the easiest and works well. If it still does it and no hairball comes out after repeated treatments and the cat is losing weight and still spitting up go to the vets then. Good Luck!

Not unless it's several times a day, or if he's not eating or drinking. Cats have a finicky digestive system. They will yack now and then for no apparent reason. If you see grass in the mess, then that just means that they ate some while they were outside.

If you see a hairball, it means you should brush them a little more often, and give them some feline laxative. This is a goopy stuff that comes in a tube like toothpaste. It helps them pass the hair without having it collect and form a hairball. Follow the directions on the tube.

It may just have a hairball, get it some medicine, You can get it from your vet for only about 5 dollars. My cat really likes the taste of it and takes it very easily. If it is spitting up something that looks just like the food she just ate, then its more than likely a hairball. If it is actual vomit, I would call your vet.

Not if it was only once and it depends what it sicked up. Cats can be sick for a variety of reasons - eating too quickly, fur ball etc etc. If your cat is sick a number of times in a day or there is blood in the vomit then take it to the vet. If it's just once or twice and it seems fine and is still eating and drinking then don't worry it's just natural.

It has hair balls. You need to get a hair ball remedy and it will take care of this. Its probably just a hairball lodged in the cats throat.
