Only 1000? I'd probably use it to pay my mortgage plus a bit extra on the principle.

I live in SA, but all my family live in the UK. I would take the 1000, buy a ticket, and go home to visit my sister and all the aunts and uncles. (Trying to save up for the trip next year as it is) 1 000 pounds is about R 13 000!!! I haven't been able to visit them for about 15 years, and last saw my sister 6 years ago. I miss her alot. Good luck spending it!!

I'd buy myself some Miu Miu riding boots and a Diane von Furstenberg cocktail dress that I have been lusting over then get Christmas presents with the rest. So that I'm not completely broke and miserable in December when it should be party season.

thats just the right ammount to pay for the new front door and 2 new windows i need on the porch, the door is bent and lets in the wind and the rain and the two windows that are not double glazed and the wind whistles through them and wastes all the central heating we darednt turn on because of the price.

Invest it most of it - definately. I'm really good at spending, but I'm wicked at keeping my eye on the ball. And in a year or two, well THEN I could really do something with it!
