I want to download Lame. I find over the internet but somehow, I can't open the download files. Please also tell me other free MP3 encoders that could convert DAT to MP3 or WMA.

try, lame_enc.dll , free download
after you download it you will have to unzip it.
try audacity and export as mp3 command
it will ask where its saved to. once you do this it should work every time .

The problem is that so many different programs use ".dat" that it really doesn't tell you anything about the file, what it contains, or what program it belongs to. There is no standard format, there is no standard way to interpret the contents. ".dat" is only a name and nothing more... so first you need to know wat the dat is and where it came frome ... then you need an app that knows what it is and can use the lame encoder to convert it ... the lame encoder is not stand-alone it needs an app to use it .. its more like a codec .. you need an app to operate it ... personally i would try adobe audition ... but heres the codec :::
