Hi there...consider trying boric acid products which kill fleas quickly by dehydrating them. Boric Acid, a white powder, is mined from the Mojave Desert in California. It works very well against insects, but is less toxic to humans and pets than table salt.

A list of Boric Acid products you can purchase online for flea infestation: http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=flea+boric+powder+for+fleas&hl=en&btnG=Search You can find some of these at pet stores usually specialty pet stores.

Here's an article on how it works and how to apply it: http://www.seedsofknowledge.com/fleas.html

the best thing to do would be to drop your pet off at the vets for a flea treatment and while that's being done have an exterminator come in a spray the house. The problem with fleas is that the minute you see one then you have a problem. if you walk into your house with socks on and you see 10 of them, thrn there's hundreds of thousands of them in the carpet. by the way bring your pet in again in 10 days for another treatment to make sure there aren't any hatching eggs. Good Luck

Fleas do not like citrus. So I use the Citrus carpet freshener and let stand on there for about 10 minutes and the vacuum it up. I have sprinkled it on very lightly and left it over night. I mop with citrus cleaners and use citrus air sprays. To get them off your pet use Avon skin so soft lotion if they are short haired the fleas will fall right off.

If you've already fogged and treated the carpet and that didn't get them you may have to call a service to come out and spray inside and out. That will get them.
