I am not sure what I am supposed to do with his key. He gave it to me and I understand the trust issue. But what does it mean? Am I supposed to walk in there and clean, take his dog out, make his dinner, come in when he isn't there? Cuz when he is there I don't need a key. Im confused (doesn't take much). Just go in and hang out while he is at work? huh? *rolls eyes* Someone please explain this part of the dating process.

first and formost, that he trusts u. points to both of u.
second and more practical, when i had given a key was so they could come in, even though i was, say, in the shower. or while i was stuck in traffic and she was at my place earlier than me.
i think u r reading too much into it. its a GOOD thing, unless u "made" him do it.
just take it easy, dont say or ask anything. things will unfold, if next time he says "hey i am running late go ahead and watch some tv" or "hey do my laundry and while u r at it, cook something" u will know. just be happy and patient, next thing he might give u might be sparkly like the key but made from white gold and had a diamond on it. :)

what he really wants you to do is go there before he gets home from work have a nice romantic dinner on the table and sitting at the table sipping wine while in the nude.. that is what happened to me when i gave my gf a key and man that was the best dinner ever!

well if i gave you a key and you showed up at odd hours i'd probably take it away from you
i think he's just saying he trust you enough that if you ever need to get into his house he's alright with that
or maybe he loses his keys often

Wear nothing but your coat when you go round. Make sure he's in when you do. And just say " oops I thought you were out I only came round to do some housework for you and I love to clean in the nude".

It's just him showing he trusts you .
It's also pretty handy in case he loses his key giving a spare to someone else :)

he is telling you that you have free rain it to his life, when ever you feel the need to. you can do all of the above or nothing but he is tell you what ever you want to do is fine with him
