Is the glaze on modern crock pot porcelain important to be intact to be able to cook on it? Would contaminants enter your food if you dont make sure that that surface still maintains a factory finish? Could you wear it down to white and still be able to cook in that bowl?

The food is im not sure its safe to cook in a damaged crock pot.

It depends on what is under the surface of the enamel. When in doubt, through it out. Better be safe than sorry, the material underneath may harbor bacteria.

it really depends on the finish. It's not just about food bacteria...the pot itself may break more while in use and may release dirt. If your pot has a crack it is probably a good idea to chuck it out.

Depends on damaged i would say no its not safe
