I don't mean to provoke anyone, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this. I'm still trying to understand how Muslims respect and revere Jesus as a holy man if they don't believe what is written about Him.

Please understand this in not a challenge. It is a question. Thank you.

Thank you for your question.

Actually we do believe what was written about him, we believe what was written about him in the Quran, here is what it says about what you are asking about:

4.157 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

4.158 Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;-

What this means to the majority of Quranic scholars is that Jesus (as) was put on the cross but did not actually die there. God caused him to appear as dead. He was alive, but barely when taken down. After recovering somewhat, as it says in the second verse quoted above, Allah (swt) raised Jesus (as) up to Himself. Muslims believe that Jesus (as) will return near the end of days to defeat the forces of evil and the anti-christ.

There are also a number of scholars who feel that the above verses mean that another person was substituted for Christ (as) on the cross. This is a theological debate in Islam.

The important point to make here is that there are far more similarities than differences between the way the religions view Jesus (as) and if you want to look for differences you will find them and if you want to look for similarities you will find them. But what you do with this knowledge is up to you. Do you want to promote peace and reconciliation or do you want to promote strife and division?

And Allah knows best.

Peace and Blessings,

Salim

-How come everything about him being raised isn't included -in your belief of him? When it is written so many times in the bible? he was raised a life not dead, Allah (God) pulled him up to him and saved him, and because he didn't die, he shall return back again to complete the message and spread the peace on earth, and then when he finish killing the Dajal (anti christ) and finish his job, he will die. and this is one of the greatest sign for the end of days. -Since in the past sin sacrifices were made why wouldn't a sinless being paying a price for all not be considered in your faith? good people are not equal to bad people, everyone responsible on the sins he/she gains, God can simply forgive by simply raise your hands to him and ask him. sacrifice animals is one way of many ways of forgiveness. we as Muslims still sacrifice animals and give its meat to the poor. but this is not the only way for forgiviness. -Didn't Jesus say he is the light and the way that eternal life is ONLY through him? If you believe in his teachings how come this lesson isn't included in Islam? that could be true. and before Jesus was Moses, Jewish should go through Moses before coming to God. and when Jesus came, followers should go through Jesus (means believe in his message). in Islam, we have to believe in all the prophets of God including Jesus. we go through him as well. -The thing I don't understand the most is If he was a prophet as you say then why wouldnt you consider him a false prophet if his life and followers lead so many people to believe what you believe is a lie? Jesus didn't lie. but the people after him did. if you look carefuly into the Bible you will notice: Bible = God words (God words should be separated from any other words) + Jesus words + people preaching + scripture hidding + translation errors.

We believe that Jesus (pbuh) was taken up to heaven therefore not crucified and will return to Earth later on and complete his life. I think this will be one of the signs that will tell us that the Day of Judgement is near.

no we believe that Jesus (pbuh) didnt die at all rather was raised to heaven to be safe with his Lord God.

and the traitor dispel was the one who got that horrible punishment by God's permission he was made to look like Jesus (pbuh)

God didnt send Jesus (pbuh) to be tortured and he loves his Prophets so much that he will not allow this to happen to any of them.

peace.

no they don't.

Jesus said that he would send the Holy Spirit as a witness, and that the true followers of God would worship with the Spirit of Truth.

The very fact that the Holy Spirit is present in some people and that some people can praise God in toungues....is witness that Islam is a false religion, because they deny who Christ was.

thanks for your kind approach.

first, the Bible has been translated from its origianl language, which cause many errors. i am saying this because i see many errors in the translation of the Quran. also no one has the right to add any words in the Bible, so for John to add his words in the Bible, that's not accepted. the Bible should be shut down after Jesus is gone.

when Jesus knew they are coming to get him, God saved him soul and body toward him. and changed the face of the man who betrayed him to be look like Jesus.

[158] But Allâh raised him up unto Himself And Allâh is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise.
Quran 4:158

about raising from the death? we aren't sure how he was pulled toward God. maybe God put him to sleep, or temporary death. not sure. and because it has been written in the Quran that for every soul shall die. Then Jesus will return back again in the end of days, kill the anti-christ, remain for 40 years on earth, then die like every human being. (because every soul shall die)

No, Muslims believe that Jesus (PBUH) did not die on the cross; he (PBUH) was raised to the heaven alive.
