If you're going to invest in a digital camera, I would get a Sony Cybershot. It's easy to use and it's of great quality. Don't get a Cannon digital camera just because you have a Cannon printer...it's not going to help with the way your pictures will print. And also Cannon is of lesser quality. You won't be disappointed if you get a Sony Cybershot. I've had mine for two years and I absolutely love it.

You really can't go wrong with any digital camera out now. I've tried many and all take excellent shots. For $250 you should be able to find a decent one. Try epinions.com.
Cameras do not have to be same brand as printer. What a rip off it would be if that was the case! What affects the print quality is the Megapixel size of the camera. You should be able to select, within the camera menus, the picture quality. The higher Megapixel rating on the camera, the higher quality picture you can snap. But also the more space on the removable picture card it will take up. This isn't a problem if you download your pictures frequently or carry extra memory cards. Also the ink and paper you print on, and the print quality you select when you print will affect the print quality.

The camera does not have to be the same, but Canon makes a great line of affordable consumer digicams, some of them very highly rated in your price range,
Your Canon printer may have some features that work only with, or better with Canon Cameras. But any camera should work just fine.

I'd suggest you look at a Canon Powershot A530 to stay within your budget. You will also need at least a 512 MB SD memory card, so that's why I kept the price down. If you get a good buy on a 1 GB card, go for it. In a memory card, you want to get some decent write speed, like at least 40X. I like Sandisk Ultra II or Lexar Platinum II cards.
You can mix brands between cameras and printers, if you will be using a computer to process images.

You Could Check Out the Sony's Cybershot Range, They Have Decent Cameras, which offer a host of features. their built quality is absoutely amazing. as far as your printer is concerned check with the USB terminal on it, should have a universal hub that connects and is compatible with all major brands.

Sit down and make an assessment of what you want, and then buy the best one you can, within the funds you have to spend.
