It started as a small spot this morning but is now over my whole field of vision in one eye. It is making me kind of dizzy. Has anyone else experienced this, for like 2 or more hours? I don't wear glasses and am on no medications.

I get this before I get a migraine headache. Lie down with a cold cloth on
your forehead. Take an advil first. You need to relax. Tension will make it
worse. If you can make it quiet, do so. The first time this happened to me
I though I was dying. You are not dying. You will be okay. It will just take some time for the aura to go away.

Oil on your eyeball?

There might just be something in your eye.... I'd recommend washing it out carefully with water.... or if you're desperate, eye-drops....

Aside from that you might want to make sure your eyes are well-rested. A good way to fix this is to cover them up with your hands so you can see nothing but blackness... and to just stare into that blackness with your eyes open for a while.

If that does nothing then you've probably got some kind of low-level damage to the lens... which is causing unusual diffraction of light inside your eye and messing the image up. Nothing to be done if thats the case...

One of my co-workers experienced this....after 2 or 3 days of suffering she went to see a dr., and was referred to see a neurologist. (Not trying to alarm you!) He gave her some medication which really seemed to help. This was a few years ago-so I cannot remember Specifically what caused it, but I seem to recall it having something to do w/blood pressure and heightened nerves. She was going through a TERRIBLY stressful time.
I'd definitely go get it checked out ....sooner than 2 or 3 days too!

I get them just before a migrain hits - go and dose up on anadin extra (i take 3 or 4!!)

Sit in a darkend room - that helps, or just go to bed, thats what I always end up doing!!

See an eye doctor and explain the situation to them as it could be serious.
