It's what not to eat that is important. No alcohol. No smoking. Avoid drugs if possible - except those prescribed. avoid addictives in food. Eat a lot of food that contain anti oxidants like vitamin C. The 5 fruit and vegetable a day idea - may help with a damaged liver.

You have put all of us on the spot by asking what will help a damaged liver - at this point there isn't anything. As many have mentioned, there are things you can eat that will put much less of a strain on your liver, and there is milk thistle to further ease the stress on your liver, but it's what you don't eat that will have the greatest effect.
ALCOHOL is one of the worst things you can add to your liver. Avoid alcohol as much as possible. I've seen people with HCV that went to the extent of not taking cough syrup that had alcohol in it & that's not much, so that tells just how potent the effects are. Avoid excess fatty foods. Not as bad, but they put a strain on liver. The best idea would be to check hepatitis C support sites, some like Silver Foxes Lair are informational sites designed for people supporting those who have HCV, and you can get info without becoming a member.
By the way, as others have said, the liver can repair itself if not continually stressed. But as I said, there is nothing at present to "help" a damaged liver that is continually under stress. That's why HCV can desroy a persons liver, it just doesn't stop attacking. The English have a med that appears promising in trials, it may regenerate liver cells even while HCV is destroying them, but it is not available yet. Check the HCV websites for more info & even some good low fat, liver easy recipes. Good luck.

The liver can repair its self if its not too damaged. You don't say how it got damaged, but the main reason is alcohol. All alcohol consumption must be stopped and try and eat a good diet that contains lots of vitamins. I expect that you are tired, which is one of the symptoms, but try and get some exercise even if you only go for a walk

Eat large amounts of carbohydrate foods. Carbohydrates should be the major source of calories in this diet.
Eat a moderate intake of fat, as prescribed by the health care provider. The increased carbohydrates and fat help prevent protein breakdown in the liver.
Have about 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight. This means that a 154-pound (70-kilogram) man should eat 70 grams of protein per day.
Researchers have found numerous ways to improvise the action of common home remedies & developed proven systems to cure liver diseases with a guarantee.Find here how people cured fatty liver at:http://adola.net/go/fattyliver-bible/
Have a good health!

Milk thistle nutritionally supports the liver's ability to maintain normal liver function. It has shown positive effects in treating nearly every known form of liver disease, including cirrhosis, hepatitis, necroses, and liver damage due to drug and alcohol abuse. Milk thistle works due to its ability to inhibit the factors responsible for liver damage, coupled with the fact it stimulates production of new liver cells to replace old damaged ones.

My doctor says less alcohol and lose weight by avoiding fatty things.
What a bore but it is slowly working. Apparently the liver mends its self far better than other organs so don't panic.
I'm not, good luck!

Drink more water... and eat less crap.
A liver is damaged because its purpose is to filter all the toxic crap out of your body that YOU eat and drink .... so to fix it... you need to stop eating crap, and drink more water to dissolve the toxins in and get them the hell outta the body.
