I have just upgraded to WMP11 and have tried to play one of the tracks that I have previously ripped and I get taken to the Download Licence web page... I backed up all my ripped music licences quite a while ago, and hadn't actually restored them in the version of WMP10 that I've just upgraded... so how do I restore the previously backed up licences into WMP11?

dont use MEDIA PLAYER its a bag of poo there are many better media players out there that dont spy on what you are watching/listening theres VLC media player that plays mostly any video format out there WMV/AVI/MP4/MPG/MOV/RM
download that and it also plays all music formats mp3/ogg/aac/ + other formats

i dont know as i dont use windows media player i use winamp.
