shortest ch Ps 117
longest ch Ps 119
ch in the center Ps 118
There are 594 ch before Ps 118 and 594 ch after Ps 118
594+594=1118 (the center of the Bible is Ps 118:8)
Does this say something about God's will for our lives?
Next time someone asks about God's perfect will for our their lives, send them to the center of His Word!
Ps 118:8 "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put trust in man"(depending on what version you read it will be something to this effect)
Isn't it nice how this worked out that God is in the center of it all?
Got a min to spare? Say a prayer for the person who typed all this up.

I read that a while back, and it seems neat. The problem is, it's not accurate.

Assuming that you're using KJV, the bible contains 1189 chapters. This means that, as you've said, the 595th chapter would be in the exact middle of the bible, being preceded by 594 chapters and followed by 594 chapters.

So which chapter is the 595th? There are 478 chapters up through the book of Job, so the 595th chapter would be Psalm 117 (595-478=117), not Psalm 118.

Psalm 117
1 Praise the LORD, all you nations;
extol him, all you peoples.
2 For great is his love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.
Praise the LORD.

Not necessarily a bad verse, but it certainly throws a wrench in the whole numerology thing.

Which Bible is that the center of?

Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants all use different versions. If it is the Protestant version, you can thank Martin Luther -- not God for putting that at the center. He deleted several books from the Catholic Bible in the 1500s to get the Protestant Bible.

Um, actually, they did that on purpose when they started using Chapter and Verses. The Greek and Hebrew do not have those at all in them, but is written more like poetry... so when translated, it was pretty easy to do that (especially considering the translation process)
