If you are a baked potato fan, don't do it man! The microwave makes it mushy and sticky! There's nothing finer than an oven baked potato!! It's worth the extra time it takes to cook it.

I usually cook an averaged sized one about 6 minutes, a couple of holes punched in the, and then immediately take out of microwave and wrap in foil for 10 minutes (don't cut open, as the steam inside will finish the cooking)
The better way, though is to cook in micro about 4 minutes of each potato and then finish in the oven at 400 degrees. That cuts the cooking time about in half.

small try 7 min. to start, then 2min intervals until done.same way with large only start at 10Min's.since this method removes the moisture from the potato and makes it chewy,i stab the potato with a fork 3 to 4 times, fairly deep and then soak the potato's in a pan of water for1/2 to 1 hour(again depending on the size)and then microwave)you may feel after having read all this that it would be just as easy to throw them in the oven, but for me its about the same as i use this soaking method on my oven baked because i don't like the texture of dried potato.my easiest way is to throw it skin and all into a pot of water and boil it,its quick and easy.

10 minutes according to my microwave oven speed touch. It will taste a lot better if you bake it in the oven for 45 minutes...if you have time. Either way, you'll want to poke holes in the potato with a fork before cooking it to make it cook all the way through.

It depends on the size of the potatoe and power of the microwave and how well-done you like it. Just try and find out.

Usually I do mine for about 3 min. I suppose it is give or take depending on your microwave. Most newer nukers have a button that says potato. This takes the guess work out of it.

If you like the tuff skin texture on a potato, nuke it for 5 mins then place in regular oven for about 5 (or so) minutes to crisp the skin. Comes out perfect like it was fully baked

Start at 5 minutes for a smaller potato, 7 minutes for medium, 8-9 for a large one. Poke it several times with a fork. DO NOT wrap it in foil. when you have about a minute or so left, start checking it to see if it is soft.
