The improvements mentioned here are just about the only things you can do that are legal.
If you have good insurance, you could improve the mileage by pushing it over a cliff. I have been tempted to do it to mine. I also own a 2004 and the best I've have gotten on the highway is 17mpg.
I have done all the stuff mentioned to get there so ?????????

I have the same model and have tried and tested everything on the market. I got the most out of a cold air intake and a throttle body spacer. I went from 292 miles per 25 gal tank to 345 with those items. The tornado in my opinion is junk. It sits before the throttle body, so it defeats the purpose when it is open. A hypertech programmer worked well if you are looking for HP and more torque.

a tonneau cover for the box helps the highway mpg. also full tires, tune ups,wheel bearing maint.,and moderate acceleration,also don't carry any unnecessary weight.

Drive slower, the faster you drive, the more times you slow down then pick up speed again, that's what eats gasoline
