Not quite sure what you are looking for. So....here goes. My take on task management (vs. project management) is that starting at the task level is dangerous. It leads you into "doing what you know how to do" and does not encourage creative problem solving. Looking at a project from the "end result" level and not being hung up on past history promotes creative thinking and better solutions to the project at hand. Project management software encourages task level thinking and is only a small part of managing projects effectively. Just a few thoughts.

Select a high flyer in successful business, study the methods used, and write about them and apply them to a particular project that you are interested in. Always emphasize the basics, being a self starter, understand all tasks begin with the first step, and never give up.
