Unfortunately lots of people are rude and angry. However most people are here to help so try to ignore the dead heads and listen to those who try to be pleasant and helpful. I know it is difficult to do at times... Good luck.

It would seem that way wouldn't it. The short time I have been on this I have learned to realise that the loosers out there that cant say anything nice about someone or be sympathetic about someone's question shouldn't be on here at all.
How can a question be stupid or a waste of time if that person doens't know the answer or purely needs a bit of reassurance.
I answered a question a mo ago and I'll say the same thing again, there'll come time when these degenerates really need someone, chances are there'll be on their own because no-one will care about them.
Rise above it honey xx

Like it or not, everyone is not how or what you want them to be.
This is a forum that reaches all religions, races, cultures, etc. and is a diverse group of people that can offer many different views on almost any subject matter. That being said, you also get the jesters, the irritants, and trouble makers who like to chime in so that they feel they have accomplished something for the day.
Just take the advice from those who offer their sincere thoughts and utilize them at your discretion.
Ignore those others who have no true purpose and just get on with your day. Focus on the positive - ignore the rest.

I don't think it's a matter of being angry, rude, and cold
I read some the answers and people keep asking where is the empathy, compassion, etc?.
I ask where is it when people can start thinking for themselves?
Then you have th idiots who like to post quesitons just to incite a riot..
Some folks like to see how other folks will respond.
Ya see this really isn't a quesiton and answer board it's a test in how humans relate to one another. and I'm sure some folks will fail this test as well

It's the anonymity of the internet. Some people feel the need to be an asshole online because they wouldn't dare do it to anybody's face. As thus, never take insults online that seriously, especially if the insulter is hiding under the guise of anonymity (like in LJ when people comment anonymously)
I doubt most people will change, but don't let it get to you either way.

There are people who will use whatever venue that's available to spread discontent and discourse. Yahoo answers is an open forum with rules that are SUPPOSED to be followed but rarely does that happen which is why they have the report abuse flag. If you feel someone has really overstepped the bounds report them and the staff will look into the complaint and react accordingly.

I'm rude, cold, and angry in real life too.
As for your stupid question, DUH, this isn't therapy for pooor widdle people with problems and who need help. This is a time-sink invented by Yahoo that has become a magnet for:
*cheating children to get other people to do their homework
*lazy adults who don't feel like googling
*stupid people who can not communicate with the written word asking stupid questions that are self-evident
*trolls ever looking for attention
*whiners who think everyone is sooooo mean to them
1% of all the questions here are actually worth asking. Join that small percentage and maybe people will be nicer to you.

I don't know where here is but I can tell you there are people like that everywhere. They suck all our good energy and throw us their buckets of dirty water which they have saved just for us..
What can you do? I really have a weak stomach and I let them get to me. If you can do better than than avoid them, don't listen to them, don't get involved. There is really nothing that can be done I'm afraid.

I asked the same. Where did empathy or simple courtesy go??
I think it kind of spoils the internet.
I try to tell myself, its some inmature person, that doesn't know better.
Or an old guy thats impatient to get to the bathroom.

The worst are the so called religious people who give a really rude answer and because they add "Peace" at the end, they think it's ok. Well it's not.
Peace.
