I am gutted i have paid tax and NI since i was 16 through school/college then full time work so i think i have contributed to our society. But when i need help from the bloody governement to I get help jeez no so if anybody can give me an insight where our taxes and NI are MEANT to go i would be grateful. i applied for housing benefit as my husband lost his job we have worked all our lifes and they have took 2 months to get to it not good enough in my eyes. Thanks for listening to me moan so anybody got any answers would be grateful!!!

there is no consolation- they are all idiots. My husband has a heart problem and can't work until he has an operation and maybe not even then can he work. They kept us waiting 2 months to tell us we were not entitled to anything and they lost the claim- it went to 3 places. i am now doing 3 jobs at present which is killing me!
all you can do is keep phoning and demanding, but be prepared they are notoriously thick as ****.
tell them to keep you waiting for 2 months is against the law, as it is, and demand some form of payment.
i'm sorry i can't be of more help- only to tell you- it's not you- it's them the ***********!!! I don't usually swear, but they are beyond a joke! Try and keep sane, and keep contacting them. Tell them you may lose your home etc. Stay as calm as possible- stick pins in something before you phone them!! to get the angst out. Do not give up until you get a straight answer from them.

Why ask a silly question like that, Do you not watch the news?????? Everyday 1000's of immigrants are coming in. This is where your money goes, helping those bast*rds out with houses, cars, food etc. Look at Abu Hamza a know terrorist and hater of anything British, and where is he, in a British prison costing the tax payer money. America want him, so send the fucker there.
It also pays for John Prescot to keep his job, even though there is no job for him to do, he is still on the pay roll. Get rid of him and employ 5 nurses for a year.
I don't mean to be sarcastic and I apologise, I just get extremely annoyed at the situation. There are millions of people in the same position as you, with nobody there to help you. It really is a joke. I do hope that everything works out for you in the end.
Might I suggest you join me in moving to Australia? After 25 years of getting nothing I am turning my back on Britain and going for good. At least Tony Blair will gain something from it, another house he can use to home an illegal!

Totally agree with you, pay into it all your life and get nothing back when you need it. NI pays for health/pension and covers people who dont work, but thats a joke seeing as there is not enough money to go around and we are being told to save extra or work longer until we get a pension. We should look after our own first and immigrants and anyone else should come way behind.

If they haven't got enough money to pay you the benefits you want, you should be campaigning for more tax.
