A friend's cat had an accident and one of the antennas was cut:-( We are wondering if it will ever grow back again!

Cats Whiskers/ antennas are on the animal for a reason. They are there to show the cat what size gap they can fit their body into. If you notice with a cat their whiskers are the size of that side of their body. The whisker will grow back within a few weeks and they will get longer if the cat puts on weight.

Antennas?! Are these not whiskers?!
My cat has had two of his whiskers fall out....I say fall out.......one time I was tugging them while we were playing and it fell out in my hand, the other time I was trying to give him a worming tablet and was holding him so tightly in the struggle that he lost another one!
He doesn't seem to have suffered from it, and I am sure that more have grown back in their place. I know they can grow because they grow with the cat, if the cat gets bigger, so do the whiskers for judgement purposes. But I am not a vet, so I am not absolutely certain of this!

I have never heard them called antennas before, my children call them feelers.
Takes about 2 months to grow back.

You mean it's whiskers!! They take up to 3 months to grow back. My daughter decided to give our cat a trim!!!! This applies to all the cats nerve sensors.

Not long , And is true a cats wiskers determen what size space the cat can get into & out of safe.
So Please no more trimming or pulling out .. Be careful.
