Why is it that we say we are chilley when Chillie con Carne is hot?

you spelt both wrong chilly as in we are cold and chilli as in chilli con carne, chilly is a slang word i think for cold, and chilli is a mexican word.

Chilly is cold, as in weather
Chili is hot as in hot chili peppers, hence hot chili con carne

CHILLY can be an adjective or adverb of the noun CHILL, I am CHILLY, or it is CHILLY.
CHILLI, is the name given to members of the hot capsicum family after they have been dried.
Whereas of course CHILE is a country in South America

Easy mistake to make as Chili hot peppers mix well with chilled bean stew.
