I don't think it was a message from God. However, if you do not want to go to your appointment, maybe you are seeing the wrong counselor. This should help you. You shouldn't dread these appointments. Also, if you have some type of mental illness, the feeling that you are experiencing may be part of your illness. Please try to talk to your counselor about this.

I think that your inner beliefs and desires are going to find "signs" in anything you come across in your life, if it so suites them, if you allow it. Why don't you want to go? Many people who need to seek counseling often go not because they want to, but because they realize that they need someone to help them...and while a stranger may not be the ideal solution, it may be the most helpful.

No one is going to be able to force you into believing seeing a counselor is right or wrong. Even if they can make you go, they can't make you talk. You have that power.

You've gotta help yourself.

If you've got a problem and you're allowing your own superstitions to get in the way as an excuse to not solve your issues because you'd rather hide....you need to do some soul searching.

And, if soul searching had brought you to the conclusion that God doesn't wish for you to see this counselor (many Christians don't believe in theraputic counseling, as "god should be enough") then that's fine! Stick with your beliefs! In that case, try spending more one on one with your God. =)

I doubt it's a message from God. More likely it's a message from your id (subconscious) that's trying to self-sabatoge you by making you think it's ok to skip your councellor meetings.

Go see your damn councellor.

Probaby yes. Counselors mostly are liberals who don't understand the human condition.
