When a person dies his soul goes out of the body and stays near it for some time because there is attraction in form of sons, daughters, spouse, parents, money ,house etc .
This is the reason why the Indian saints have always said that "Moh" or love is bad as it does not let the soul reach higher state and thus it again gets into the circle of life and death. If one thinks deeply death gives life and life gives death.
soul does not go to heaven or hell .
The karma and the sanskar of the person give him hell or heaven in his life time.

The soul will become God and if you wanted anything todo after death, you can fulfill that through your soul.

These type of thoughts are extracted from my own dreams. And my dreams are real only. It has never happened that my dreams comes false. I only have dreams which are possible to come true. i don't know why is this happening. But i'm experimenting on it.

God has given us the soul, until the day we die, so once we die the soul goes back to the source, and waits until the day of judgment, and in that day it returns and occupies the body and then is the time you are going answer for your sins and good deeds,

Hypothetically speaking, life energy forms a residual holographic image that corresponds to the physical living entity. When the physical form dies, the hologram continues to exist. It has a very limited range of interaction with the physical universe but it is still a form of energy, and as such, it is subject to the law of conservation of energy.

The living "soul" (nephesh/psuche) is composed of dust and the breath of life. When the breathe leaves, the soul is asleep. If the individual didn't trust in the laws of life, then he recieves a permanent death, called the second death 1000 years after Satan is released from being bound. (read revelation 20).

Death is a great mystery to most people. Not so for the students of the Quran. We learn that death is exactly like sleeping; complete with dreams.

[6:60] He is the One who puts you to death during the night, and knows even the smallest of your actions during the day. He resurrects you every morning, until your life span is fulfilled, then to Him is your ultimate return. He will then inform you of everything you had done.

[40:46] The Hell will be shown to them day and night, and on the Day of Resurrection: "Admit Pharaoh's people into the worst retribution."

The period between death and resurrection passes like one night of sleep.

[2:259] Consider the one who passed by a ghost town and wondered, "How can GOD revive this after it had died?" GOD then put him to death for a hundred years, then resurrected him. He said, "How long have you stayed here?" He said, "I have been here a day, or part of the day." He said, "No! You have been here a hundred years. Yet, look at your food and drink; they did not spoil. Look at your donkey - we thus render you a lesson for the people. Now, note how we construct the bones, then cover them with flesh." When he realized what had happened, he said, "Now I know that GOD is Omnipotent."

[6:60] He is the One who puts you to death during the night, and knows even the smallest of your actions during the day. He resurrects you every morning, until your life span is fulfilled, then to Him is your ultimate return. He will then inform you of everything you had done.

[10:45] On the day when He summons all of them, they will feel as if they lasted in this world one hour of the day, during which they met. Losers indeed are those who disbelieved in meeting GOD; and chose to be misguided.

[16:21] They are dead, not alive, and they have no idea how or when they will be resurrected.

[30:55] On the day when the Hour comes to pass, the guilty will swear that they lasted (in this world) only one hour. That is how wrong they were.

The Righteous Do Not Really Die
They Go Straight to Heaven

[3:169] Do not think that those who are killed in the cause of GOD are dead; they are alive at their Lord, enjoying His provisions.
*3:169 We learn from the Quran that the righteous do not really die; they simply leave their worldly bodies and go directly to the same Paradise where Adam and Eve once lived

[36:26] (At the time of his death) he was told, "Enter Paradise." He said, "Oh, I wish my people knew. [36:27] "That my Lord has forgiven me, and made me honorable."

[2:154] Do not say of those who are killed in the cause of GOD, "They are dead." They are alive at their Lord, but you do not perceive.

[8:24] O you who believe, you shall respond to GOD and to the messenger when he invites you to what gives you life. You should know that GOD is closer to you than your heart, and that before Him you will be summoned.

[22:58] Those who emigrate for the sake of GOD, then get killed, or die, GOD will surely shower them with good provisions. GOD is certainly the best Provider.

[44:56] They do not taste death therein - beyond the first death - and He has spared them the retribution of Hell.

well that depends on the individual soul. there are only three choices, according to the word of god. not the bible, mind you, because the word of god is not only found in the christian bible but it is also found in the muslim Koran, in the Hindu bible so forth and so on. what most don't understand is that their is the word of god, the word of man, and the word of the devil. everything as we know it is three dimensional. god is, man is, and so is the devil. and there are rules that apply to each one of us. so if you follow god's path according to his word, you end up in heaven(the soul); however, if you follow the devils path, you end up in hell. and if you follow mans path you stay here(your soul), so it depends where do you want to end up at when your physical body dies.

We are all souls. We do not have souls.
GENESIS 2:7--And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." ASV
EZEKIEL 18:20--"The soul that sinneth, it shall die-."

There are many Scriptures that help us to see what happens to us when we die.
Animals and people experience the same thing as stated at Ecclesiates 3:19,20--"For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again."
Psalm 146:4--"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."
Eccl 9:5--"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten." (This means that people still living cannot help those who die, they cannot reward them and eventually the memory of those who die are forgotten. They are not forgotten by God though for he holds all those who die in his memory and soon all will be resurrected back to life. The fact that we do not dwell on those who die is helpful so that death is not something thought about constantly, for if that were to happen, who could stand the pain of losing loved ones? God helps us to cope with our sadness this way. )
Eccl 9:10--"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."(This also helps us to see that the dead feel neither pain nor pleasure)
Death is likened to being asleep. Psalm 13:3--"Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death."
Because of Jesus sacrificing his life for us, death is a temporary condition and those who are now sleeping in death will be brought back to life here on earth. Jesus himself will do this-- "I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—"(John 5:25-29) NIV
I hope this helps you to see what the Bible teaches us regarding death.
