The term "light" refers to a message of Truth.... That Truth is the Light....
This "light" is referred to as the "light of the world"..... it is Christ....
((remember: light seeks men out))
"darkness" is what is hidden in men.... It is their inability to understand....
So let us say, rather...
This is the condemnation... That Christ is come into the world.... (to give understanding)..... and men loved not understanding..... Because the things they did were evil....
For every one that does evil, hates the Lord. neither does he come to understand the truth. unless the things he does should be criticized and corrected.

John 3:19-21
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

GOD is LIGHT.
GOD dont' Lie.
When you See that LIGHT (GOD) in Physical Realm with Physical Eyes it is Called the Glory of GOD.
GOD Flows Through our Spirits too.
LIGHT Flows Through Children of GOD----so much LIGHT Flowed Through Adam and Eve, They didn't need any Clothes.
Remember the Sci-Fi Movies when the Door on the UFO Opens up and there is So Much Light you Cannot see Through It?
Adams and Eves Clothers.
Till they Blew-It.
And the LIGHT Went Out.
And THEN they were Naked and Ashamed.

In order to figure out what an author was writting about, we need to find the reference in scripture...
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
The "light" that has come down from heaven and is with men is God's Torah that He gave to Moses, who then taught it to the Children of Israel.
Christians tend to forget the original context of the New Testement - that everything it refers to is Jewish, not Greek in nature.
