Alright, I need to talk and let the inside of me breath. I'm Junior, a normal 16 year old boy. Latley, a lot has happend. Finally, I got all my honor classes switched to AP. I'm really glad and all, but I feel so overwelmed..that sometimes I randomly cry. I had surgery about 1 week ago. I'm fine now, but I feel so delicate. I feel like I get very depressed, and VERY FAST. Like..I said..I cry just randomly. I get this sad and depression thoughts about my life. Is this signs of depression? or..? just a phase or something? I need help.

This is stress building up in your system. Even good things can cause stress--a new job, a new relationship, promotion like what you've had. Talk to someone, whether it be a good friend, school counsellor, or the samaritans.
Eliminate other sources of stress in your life, and maybe learn some relaxation techniques.
Antidepressants from a doctor may help, but PLEASE only use them for a short while. As in 6 mos, max. They may treat the symptoms but they're not a cure, they don't solve the problem causing the stress. And you can get addicted; I did. When I was in college my situation was like yours and they just kept feeding me pills. You'll learn to deal with the pressures eventually, it's just the shock of the new.
And don't be afraid to admit it if it all gets to be too much. Nobody's perfect. You don't want to crash and burn. Make sure you take some time to relax, get some exercise, and forget about your studies from time to time.

Emotional and physical stress can be caused by most anything depending on the individual ,,,, Any one can give you their ideas for an answer ,,,, But not knowing you ,,,, any answers would just be conjecture ,,,, But given your age ,,,, And the physical changes going on in your body ,,,, It could very well just be a chemical imbalance and will or should correct it's self as you mature ,,,, You could pick something that would hold your interest and concentrate on that ,,,, A busy mind is a healthy mind so keep it occupied ,,,, If that doesn't seem to help then you probably need to see a physician ,,,, Depression can be control through medications too ,,,, talk to your parents about it ,,,,

hang in there ! water ,for depressoin i suggest changing your diet, drink a lot of clean bottled water (my guess is that you drink soda all day, you want to take this out of your diet for sure and smoking if any) include MINERALS (the sports one is flavored or else i think that there are others that are flavored) AND EFA dietary supplements from a company called American Longevity, phone#1-800-982-3189 2400 Boswell Road, chula vista, California 91914 also you should be careful about the amount of the mineral supplements do not exceed more then one tablespoon a day,and vitamins, the vitamin product that i use is called E 7 (essential seven) the telephone number is 1(888) 737-7307 i would take only one half of one scoop a day . if you do some study about what exactly it is that all of these different vitamins and minerals PURPOSE INSIDE OR BODY'S is you will probably figure out that they can help to elevate ALMOST all symptoms of ill health, there is a audio tape about minerals called "dead doctors don't lie" call 1800-982-3189 to order.

my hope is that you are a saved person, the bible says god has loved you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 5:8) try to find yourself a church and also read the bible, go to http://www.bellevue.org and you can watch live sermons p.s. HOPE I HELPED

This does sound like depression, i have just been diagnosed and i think you should too. You could go to your local gp/ doctor and fill in a depression form which you will know straight away how depressed you are and sort out a plan with your doctor. They could offer you medication (antidepressants) or counseling. Both of these is your choice whether to take them or not, make up your own mind and speak to lots of people, its a surprise how many people have had it or still do. The best of luck!!

I feel like you should go visit your family doctor and tell him/her your problems. Thats what I did and it helped a lot! I was very depressed. All I wanted to do was sleep or cry. It was horrible. I would get mad over dumb things. I tried about 4 different antidepressants before I found the one that was right for me. Its called Effexor XR. It makes you feel happy and even if you want to be down on yourself you cant be. I really like the way I feel now. Im going to try and lower my dosages soon and see if Im ok without the medication(under the supervision of my doctor). You should just really go and talk to someone about how you feel.

You've been dealing with lots of changes in your life recently...new classes which create more demand on you, and surgery. You may be suffering from what is known as "adjustment disorder with depressed mood." Simply put (in non-clinical terms) it's when an event or situation occurs that brings one to feel depressed, but not for much longer than a month. Don't worry, it's technically called a "disorder", but truly EVERYONE in the world gets adjustment disorder at some point in time in his or her life. The stupid DSMIVR (Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) puts a dumb name on a truly NORMAL human reaction to a stressful or difficult situation!

On the other hand, if you have actual depression, it would manifest itself through more than just "feeling depressed." Watch yourself for issues such as oversleeping (hypersomnia), difficulty getting to sleep (insomnia), overeating, under-eating, feelings of guilt, lack of motivation, crying, and not getting pleasure out of things in life that you normally get pleasure from.

You cannot diagnose yourself. The only person who can do that is a licensed clinician (e.g. licensed psychologist, licensed psychiatrist, or licensed mental health counselor). However, I just thought I'd give you some ideas on what to look for in yourself in the meantime...kinda like a self-analysis.

Now, bear in mind, if it IS depression that you have, then the symptoms wouldn't just go away. They'd stay with you for MORE days than not. For example, perhaps 21 days out of a month. That would indicate possible depression.

My suggestion is, if this continues, and you start seeing a pattern where depressive episodes come back, and for more days than not...it is imperative that you talk to a counselor about it. Perhaps start with your guidance counselor in school.

The other question I have for you is "are you on any medication for after the surgery which could be causing your bouts of sadness and crying?" If yes, talk to your doctor.

Lastly, don't forget...It's always good to talk to your parents throughout all of this (if you feel you can). More than likely, they'll be so willing to listen and help.

P.S. Though it doesn't sound like this is the case with you, I feel compelled say what I am about to say anyway. If you ever feel suicidal or want to harm yourself, please please go directly to your parents, a counselor, or call 911, or a local suicide hotline.

I hope this helped, my friend.

This is not depression that needs medication, you're just stresses and like you said over-whelmed. Take a breather. Go camping for a weekend, or do something else that you enjoy to get away from the craziness and recharge, you will feel much better.

Well I am glad to see you asking for help. Drepression is a very broad word for its symptoms. High school is very stressful as is with out adding college prep classes and surgery. If i were you I would talk to my doctor and let then know, It may be a good idea to write down every thought, what you eat, and your activites, like a journal. It may just be your daily rutine that has you out of wak. Also your hormone levels and play a major roll, so have them check it too. Good Luck, need any more help just e-mail me.

Life does get better, sounds like a trick of the enemy. I am not sure if u understand that. But, u can begin attending church and get free of the depression. Or u can surround yourself with friends that have a positive influence on you, which these friends can be found at church or school. Talk to your mother, father if they will understand. Don't spend so much time alone if u have been. Listen to music it has a feel good affect. I like old music myself. I t makes me feel good , just to listen. But, what ever kind of music u like and makes u feel good. How about playing sports? and seeing what other kind of extracurricular things your school has. Maybe there is a after school club. I will be praying for u. Remember, the sun will shine tomorrow, and your life is just beginning enjoy it.

Sounds like depression but only mild depression as you have described it, it may be worse for you IDK? Bad depression is missery. Truely you feel like you are in hell. Try St. johns wart if you are not on any other medications. I'd make out w/ you if I where there just to cheer you up, b/c the chemicals that come after a good makeout sestion are great as antidepressants. It sounds like you have been through a tough time and you are in SHOCK. With shock you can't cope so you shut down or breakdown in ways you wouldn't noramlly. If you feel like you have symptoms of depression Talk to a psychiatrist and she can prescribe and ssri or antidepressant. These drugs are very powerfull and must NOT be discontinued abruptly. I hope you feel better honey. And i hope that helps. :*
