I am sure that I bought a packet of cheese crumpets about a year ago. These were not plain crumpets to which I added cheese but cheese flavoured crumpets. Do they still exist? Was I imagining them ? If they exist, who makes them and how can I get hold of some. My friend does not believe me andher disbelief coulspoil a beautiful friendship

No you are not imagining it.... I bought some pizza flavour crumpets from Sainsburys about 6 months ago. They were totally gorgeous with melted cheese on them...my mush is drooling just at the thought. Don't let her doubts ruin your friendship... find some of the pizza flavour and make her a yummy snack when she comes round .... and enjoy telling her 'I told you so!!!!'

I have no answer to your question but thought you might enjoy this story.

An old man was lying on his bed, seriously ill and close to death. All of a sudden his nose twitched - he could smell his favourite food - cheese crumpets - cooking.

This went on for a while until he could stand it no more. He rolled off the bed and crawled to the top of the stairs. On his backside he slid down the stairs, then on his hands and knees crawled to the kitchen.

There, on the table, was a huge pile of cheese crumpets, cooling on a wire tray.

With a supreme effort, he hauled himself up by leaning on a chair. His withered, trembling hand reached out for a crumpet.

All of a sudden, just before he managed to reach one, his wife smacked him across the back of the hand.

"You can leave them alone", she said. "They are for the funeral."
