Mine never have.. I never did... My mother and father never did... My grandparents never did...

The answer is NO!!!!! ...

The best we can do as parents is remember when our parents asked the same question about us then try to minimalize the damage, destruction, heartache, and pain of our childrens mistakes...And when that doesn't work remember as parents we were once children who made our parents shake thier heads in frustration and confusion... (Don't however tell your parents of your woes they get entirely too much pleasure and entertainment out of watching your childing drive you as crazy as you drove them.) Old people are sick and twisted that way LOL

It wouldn't matter if a parent talked until they were blue in the face about whatever the subject may be about what they should and should not do.

All teenagers (Including me when i was younger, Im 27 now) we have all acted like we knew it all at those ages. I wouldn't listen to my mom on some things but i wish i would have now.

If i could go back i would have listened to my parents instead of having to learn the hard way on my own

Unfortunately I did not listen to my parents and I did not learn from their mistakes, so I don't expect my kids to do the same, that is life!!! they have to try things on their own to be able to learn about life

Sometimes, but then they make their own mistakes.

My in-laws were good parents, but awful disciplinarians...everything was a violation and it was completely acceptable to whip down my husband's pants and spank him in front of his sisters (because violence on top of humilation is a very healthy thing you know)

My husband's reaction......he often does not discipline AT ALL! or waits until he is frustrated which rarely happens and has this mean tone that totally confuses my son.

no because my mom would tell me of things that she did and told me not to do it so that i can learn from the mistakes that she made. But even through all that i still amde some of the mistakes that she made. all kids do.

No they are not, children are just young adults who are trying to make it in the world they want to learn FROM THIER MISTAKES not yours, maybe something that worked for you isn't right for them. let them chose thier own paths to take, pushing them into yours will only make them less likely to me able to make important descions in the future.
