we can't. if we try to prohibit alcohol consumption, we get bootlegging again. if we try to make the stuff cheaper, people go out and buy more. we really can't do anything about alcohol consumption from an authoritative stand point.

we can start by boosting people's self-esteem for a start though. it's been proven that people who turn to alcohol when they are depressed are in lack of a good self-esteem.

we can teach our kids that just because their friends drink for fun, they don't have to in order to fit in. but, let's face it, about 25% of our children actually listen to what we say.
