Thanks for the replies by the way. My question now is, if I did decide to get it cut off (to about an inch, maybe two at most) do you think it would look ok on me? Or really bad?? Honest answers please!
Thanks guys

Just to add that my hairdresser is one of my best friends, so she isn't just saying I should cut it. And it is very badly damaged. Oh and my hair isn't that long to start with- I've already had to cut a lot off (that's me in the photo)

if your face is really round, chances are it will make your face look really chubby - but not necessarily bad. if you have a longer face it will work better. the alyssa milano statement - hats will only bring more attention to your face unless you wear a wide brimmed had or pull them down over your face.

get it cut, if it looks bad, remember it's only hair and it will grow back. you can help it along growing back by taking pre-natal vitamins (which will also help your hair be healthier), they're available at your local grocery store. i'd let your parents know why you are taking them though if you still live at home, otherwise, i'm sure you know how your parents will react.

i was hoping you'd have another pic on your 360 page, but no such luck. you can kinda see my face on mine (i'll put another one up soon) and my hair is almost boy short now and i get nothing but compliments on it... well, from everyone but my husband - he hates short hair.

Hey I am here for you!! I have curly hair too and a few months at the beginning of summer - it was so DAMAGED and DRY!!! I used the John Frieda 'Go Blonder' spray and it wrecked my curls. I thought my hair would never look good again!!! But luckily, you just have to use the right products. Since most curly hair is dry to some extent, I recommend using Garnier Fructis 'Detangler + Leave In Conditioner' and trust me, this works wonders!!! I put it in my hair after I get out of the shower and comb it and it honestly makes your hair SO SOFT!!! You will feel a difference within, like, 5 seconds of just how silky and soft your hair feels. Plus it is cheap!!! Also, stick to natural products. I use the 'Live Clean' line which can be purchased at the drugstore and it so cheap!! But is so nice for your hair since it doesn't have harsh chemicals. If you can afford more "high end" products, I recommend the 'Bumble & Bumble' curl defining creme. I've used it and it really defines the curls without the frizz. And a big part of the problem why your hair may not be looking its best is because CURLY HAIR NEEDS TO BE CUT. Curly hair just doesn't look good if it is not kept in good maintenance - it is the truth. Do you realize how many split ends you probably have? I'm not trying to be rude but people with healthy looking hair generally get it cut often even if it is just a trim. Trust me, every time I get a hair cut I notice how much my curls have come to life. I would also recommend getting long layers because it will add more definition to your hair. I have fairly long hair as well but cutting your hair actually encourages your hair to grow faster! I hope I have helped you somehow and good luck with your hair :)

Look at Kylie Minogue. She looks stupendous with very short hair.
If the photo is you, go ahead . You have enough length to get a decent trim without it affecting your looks. If anything it will reveal your fine features which seem hidden at the moment. In any case hair grows again so it is not as if you had a lifetime of disfigurement ahead of you.
Your hairdresser has been trained to give the right cut for different faces so she is the best judge of what should be done rather than us who can only give general advice.

I won't just cut my hair cause someone else suggested that. First try shampoos or conditioners for damaged hair. My hair was very damaged once I used 1 bottle of Bergamot Essence mixed with Placenta in my conditioner and only cut my ends (about 2 inches) and i have the most beautifull hair.
If you really want to cut your hair you should try and go to a salon which take photos of your fac and change your hair style and color to suit you and then cut it as well

Can't say what it would look like on you without knowing what you look like and what sort of cut you're going for.

If you are really unsure about going that short you could try it a bit longer 4-5 inches and see how you get on. Also, ask your stylist for a low maintenance cut so you don't have to put products on it and damage it again.

Also, to make it appear less damaged try using Pantene because it puts a layer on your hair which covers up damage like foundation on your face does.

iirc you should have your hair trimmed every 6 weeks anyway to keep it in good condition, please bear that in mind because you don't want to have to have it shaved next time.

one of my best friends is my hair dresser too! great isnt it?! i would go along with your friend, she must know what she is talking about and if you have trusted her before then i dont see why you could not now.....unless you have upset her!! if still in doubt, cut a little bit of at a time and then you will only go as short as you feel comfortable with,if it doesnt get off all the damaged hair, just cut it again when it grows. let this be a lesson to you to missy!x oh yeah but cool pink hair!!!

The best thing to do is get all the damaged hair cut off and start again growing it as there is not really anyway to rectify it

I wouldn't say cut it to about one or two inches, I would just have it cut in a shorter style like a pixie cut. Have your stylist help you pick out a short style that works with your face shape. Good luck

you'll be fine having short hair as long as you have the confidence to carry it off. i had mine short for years, as short as a no 4 on a clippers at one point. if you've got good cheek bones and face structure and feel good about how you look you'll be fine. just don't do it if your not sure though because you can feel very exposed with no hair to hide behind! plus side is hair grows fast so it won't be short forever! good luck x x
